FEB UNIDA INTERNATIONAL ACADEMIC EXCHANGE DAY 2

Malacca, Malaysia. July 4th 2024.

1. International Networking

The agenda begins with international networking at the Ballroom of Mudzaffar Hotel Melaka, Malaysia. During this session, participants have a constructive discussion, especially on arranging future collaboration between institutions. This session is part of the ASEAN Academic Forum 2024, held by the ASEAN Academic Association. During the concurrent session, academicians from around the ASEAN countries gathered to share their common interest in academic affairs. Mas Nur Mukmin, a lecturer from the Department of Accounting, Universitas Djuanda, optimized this session to gather an International network and find collaboration opportunities.

Having a preliminary discussion with the Director of Shari’ah Center, Mindanao State University, Marawi City, Philippines, Prof. Anwar M. Radiamoda, Sh.L, Ph.D., to arrange academic and student mobility exchanges with Universitas Djuanda. On July 6th, 2024, he will visit Universitas Djuanda and become a visiting lecturer for Unida’s students and a speaker for the lecturer’s capacity building to be actively involved as an international academician.

2. International Conference

Under the theme “Transforming Nusantara Education,” the ASEAN Academic Forum 2024 will present various strategic topics delivered by remarkable speakers from around ASEAN countries. To sum up the insight from the speaker's presentation, the discussion led to optimizing potential aspects in strengthening the bond between ASEAN countries, primarily through education, academic exchange, and linkage between education and industrial needs. Participants got to be active during the international conference through open question-and-answer sessions for all participants. ASEAN Academic Forum 2024 became an influential event that engaged academicians and industry to contribute significantly to global issues.

The Department of Accounting Universitas Djuanda gained experience by sending one of the lecturers to participate in an international forum to improve the lecturers' capacity, especially in gaining global recognition. Conducting a similar forum hosted by the Department of Accounting Universitas Djuanda became one of the lessons learned by joining this event. More lecturers should join such an educational global forum to broaden their perspectives and strongly engage the global community.

3. Academic Awards

At the end of the ASEAN Academic Forum 2024, participants witnessed the MoU signing among involved institutions and the Honorary Award given by The Yang Amat Berbahagia Toh Puan Datuk Wira (Dr.) Hajah Asmah Binti Haji Abdul Rahman, Chancellor of University of Geomatika Malaysia. All practitioners and academicians who contributed significantly to society and a particular field were awarded either Adjunct Professor or Professor of Academics. One of the most exquisite moments during the awarding event was the Award dedicated to the Chancellor of Universitas Djuanda, Prof. Dr. H. Martin Roeatamy, SH., MH, for his excellent contribution to Law science and practice. group discussion with the teaching staff at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Bukit Katil, Melaka, Malaysia to raise awareness of capacity improvement.
